Paul Ward

Paul Andrew Ward passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020, in Eunice, LA. He was 41 years old, born on August 17, 1978, in Pensacola, FL. Paul retired from the U.S. Army at the rank of Staff Sergeant (SSG). He loved his brothers and sisters in arms. Visitation will be at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA, on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 9:30 a.m. until memorial service at 10:30 a.m. The Patriot Guard Riders will honor Paul and escort the procession to Port Hudson National Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. inurnment with military honors. Paul is survived by his maternal grandmother, Edna Teegarden; sister, Tara Funair; half-sister, Marjie White and husband, Jerry; stepsisters, Lori, Sandra, Becky, Randi, and Staci; stepbrothers, Thomas and Joey; his longtime caregiver, Kate Dohme; aunts, Sharyn and Lisa; uncles, John and Jere; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin A. Ward; his mother, Susan Teegarden Caronne; stepparents, Joann Gonsoulin Ward and Jay Caronne; stepsiblings, Peter, Harry, and Rhonda; as well as his maternal grandfather, Paul Henry Teegarden; his paternal grandparents; and uncles, Donald Teegarden and Eugene Ward.
