Lloyd Scott Morgan, “Scotty,” a resident of Sunshine, Louisiana passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 27, 2021 at the age of 59. Scotty was born into the Morgan family on January 13, 1962. He proudly resided on “The Point” his whole life. Scotty graduated from Lee High School in 1981. Soon after, he attended Diesel Mechanics School in Tennessee. Then he began working for his father at M&M Roustabout Service. He was also a Certified Crane Mechanic for B&G Crane Service. His next adventure was starting his own dirt business, LS Morgan & Sons, which he operated for 30 years. If he was ever missing from River Road, he could surely be found hard at work in his dump truck assuming the weather cooperated with his schedule. Scotty was survived by his two sons, Ethan Morgan and Garrett Morgan; six siblings, Mike Morgan (Dee), Reece Morgan (Marsha), Don Morgan (Nancy), Bart Morgan, Joe Morgan, and Karen Morgan Toups (Robby); numerous nieces and nephews; five aunts, Allie Morgan Wilson, Nancy Morgan, Sue Morgan Ebeling, Marian Colvin, and Jody McFatter; and one uncle, Dan Morgan; and former spouse and mother of his children, Adelaide McGee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kathleen Hopkins Morgan and John “Buck” Harrell Morgan Jr. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 30 from 9-11am at Ascension Funeral Home with a service beginning at 11am. The graveyard service will be held immediately after at St. Gabriel Catholic Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Morgan, Reece Morgan, Don Morgan, Bart Morgan, Joe Morgan, and Robby Toups. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Morgan, Garrett Morgan, and Ted Jones. A very special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana and their amazing nurses, Amy & Whitney, for their loving care. We would also like to thank Karen Morgan Toups and Robby Toups for caring for Scotty so well during his sickness. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Acadiana.
