Obituary

Hazel Villar May

June 3, 1931 – January 3, 2022

Hazel went to be with Jesus from her home while surrounded by her family.  It was the fulfillment of her faith and her desire to be absent from the body that was wracked with pain and weakness to experience the wonders of her home in the presence of her Savior and loved ones who had gone before.  She was a true and faithful Christian and was a member of Victory Temple Pentecostal Church of God in Prairieville. She is survived by her children, Rev. James (Pat) May; Jo Anne Cannon; Randy (Angie) May; one brother, Clarence (Shirley) Villar; one sister-in-law, Ruby Villar; and one brother-in-law, Clarence “Peewee” May. She is survived by 7 grandchildren; Candace (Jeremy) Johnson; Charlie May; Dr. Jamie (Jonathan) May-Reynolds; Kimberly (Joshua) Williams; Heather Cannon-Villenurve; April (Jason) Chaffin; and Cassie May.  She has 17 great-grandchildren; Jordan, Jacob, Jesse, Jaida, Jacie, Kaleah, Aidan, Liam, Madeline, Hannah "Vic", Sidney, Dylan, Laney, Kimber, Jolie Kel, Emma, and Alex; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, James Cline May; by her parents Vick and Eva (Stephens) Villar; one brother, Clyde Villar, Sr.; three sisters; Maude (Callie, Sr) Diez and Agnes (Ray, Sr) Henry; Mable (Ivan) Leblanc; and her father and mother-in-law, Clea and Zettie (Andrews) May.
