Carol Diana Damon, 75, formerly of Kokomo, IN passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 at her home in Prairieville, LA surrounded by her family.

Carol was born November 5, 1946, in Evansville, IN the daughter of Arletta (Harris) Williams & Robert H. Williams. She is a 1964 graduate of Kokomo High School, where she was a member of the Yell Block Squad.  As a child she spent her time outdoors with mud between her toes, playing with friends and chasing turtles.  They stayed out until the streetlights came on and then it was time to play hide and seek.

Carol completed business courses at LSU & worked in various office roles with companies in Kokomo, Darlington, SC & Baton Rouge, LA all while raising a growing family.  Among her positions she was a pathology lab transcriptionist supporting cancer patients.  She retired as an Administrative Assistant in 1995 to relocate with her husband Tim to their first expatriate assignment in Jamaica (9yrs).  This launched a tour of destinations realizing their dream of seeing the world and enjoying rich cultural experiences.  She also made her way to living in Moscow & St. Petersburg (4yrs).

Carol was an adventurous person with a zest for life.  She was always up for new experiences.  She was involved with her family.  Her heart and doors were always open, bringing into her circle many close friends who became like family.  She enjoyed socializing with friends, whether it included game night, travel, sitting around a campfire or a night on the town.    She also enjoyed reading, duplicate bridge, gardening, quilting, stained glass, painting, genealogy, swimming, scuba diving, relaxing on the beach and being outdoors. Carol had a great sense of humor, loving heart and sharp wit.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Arletta (Harris) Williams & Robert H. Williams of Russiaville, IN.  She is survived by her husband of 48 years Timothy Damon; her siblings Roberta Corwin, Arleen Cochran, Russell (Kathy) Williams and Connie (Terrell) Meyers; her children Brian (Celine) Runyon, Dawn (Berndt) Moeller, Kimberly (Todd) Buratt and Robert “Keith” (Trish) Damon. She is also survived by her first husband Brian Runyon Sr.

Carol was matriarch to 9 grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.  Grandchildren include Desiree Aucoin, Alexandra Runyon, Trint Aucoin, Faith Broussard, Kristine (Jimmy) Knight, Katherine Guedry, Cody Buratt, Kade Damon and Bennett Damon.  Great grandchildren include Emily Knight, Jimmy Knight IV, Parker Knight, Austin Mayers, Ander Morris, Dayson Aucoin, Arabella Gerald, Lucy Alimia, Remy Sierra, Rosalee Sierra and Kayden Klung.

Memorial Services will be held at Ascension Funeral Home at 426 West New River St Gonzales, LA.  Visitation will be Friday June 3rd from 6pm to 9pm.  Funeral Services will be Saturday June 4th at 10 AM with one hour of visitation prior to the services.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org & Susan G.
