Yvonne Shannon, passed away peacefully at 12:31 p.m., Saturday, October 31, 2015, at Magnolia Assisted Living, Gonzales, LA. She was 88 and a native and resident of Gonzales. She was loved by everyone and was known for her outgoing personality, wit, and love of life. She was the daughter of George Walker, Sr. and Lucille Ficklin Walker. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, George Walker, Jr. and Cobby Walker; and her beloved grandson, Wesley Sheets. She is survived by her devoted husband of 69 years, K. M. Shannon; two children, Trudi S. Sheets and husband, Rodney and Michael P. Shannon and companion, Linda Caisse; three grandchildren, Erin M. Sheets, Reid Sheets, and Jeffrey Shannon and wife, Stacy; four great grandchildren, Blake Sheets, Kaylie Sheets, Sarah Shannon and Cameron Shannon. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Tuesday, November 3, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until service at 12:00 noon, conducted by Pastor Malcolm Richard. Burial in Ficklin Cemetery.
