Wilson J. Fontenot, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at 5:00 p.m., at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. A resident of Gonzales, LA and native of White Hall, LA. He was a retired shop foreman with Hebert Steel Inc. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home on Friday, July 3, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visiting at St. Mark Catholic Church on Saturday, July 4, 2015, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Fr. Juel Kandulna. Burial at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Cemetery. Survived by his wife, Joycelyn R. Fontenot of 21 years; two sons, Tyke W. Fontenot and Biff S. Fontenot and wife, Natalie; two step daughters, Tannie Fairchild and husband, Dirk, and Shannon Stone and husband, Mike; step son, Brett Sanchez and wife, Melissa; four sisters, Margie LeBlanc, Orelia Blackwell, Loyce Lessard, and Dorella Helg; brother, Barlow Fontenot; twelve grandchildren, Hunter, Chloe, Gracie, Alexander, Levin, Jace, Brandt, Bailey, Hayden, Avery, Blaise, Kristen and husband, Jessie, and Brittany and husband, Nick; three great grandchildren, Jonah, Cullen, and Finnley. Preceded in death by his former wife, Shirlyn "Tut" Fontenot; parents, Octema and Dallas Fontenot; sisters, Joyce Masa and Rita Anderson; and brothers, Eugene and Florence Fontenot. Pallbearers: Brent Fontenot, Levin Fairchild, Jace Fairchild, Brandt Fairchild, Hunter Fontenot, Alexander Templet, Hayden Saucier, and Blaise Sanchez.
