William Henderson Jr.

William M. "Bill" Henderson Jr., age 77, passed away at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA at 9:30 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017. He was 77 years old, born on September 16, 1940, in Lockport, LA. He was a former resident of Chalmette, LA and a resident of Prairieville, LA. He retired from the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam War, and after his military career, he retired as a police officer. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, LA on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until service at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. Jerry Martin. Inurnment will be with military honors at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary, LA. Survived by his wife of 39 years, Barbara Henderson; two sons, William M. "Bill" Henderson III and partner, Maxx Shirley, and Michael Wayne Henderson and wife, Kelly; and three grandchildren, Maxx Rodriguez, Marissa Henderson, and Lucas Henderson. Preceded in death by his parents, William M., Sr. and Ann Henderson; and four brothers, Daniel, Eddie, and Gilbert Henderson, and Steve Koffman.
