A native of Hobart, La. and resident of Prairieville, he was born May 18, 1931 and died Friday, June 28, 2013 at the age of 82. He was a retired Plant Maintenance Operator. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Kerry Ash. Interment in Oak Lawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Delatte Burns 3 daughters and sonsinlaw, Pamela B. and Don Daigle, Theresa and Robert Nickens, and Dianna and Jimmy Russell, Sr. 4 sisters, Claudette Wilson, Phyllis Hebert, Joanie Kernan and Dotsy Mae Babin 1 brother, C.J. Burns 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Phillip L. Burns mother, Therese Cedotal Ledoux and grandson, Brad Charles Daigle. Pallbearers will be Warren J. Joey Nickens, Jimmy Russell, Jr., Jason Russell, Carl VanOrden, Richmond Rushing, Sr., Jamie Worsham and Steve Delatte. He was a member of Lake Martin Baptist Church and a Korean war veteran Army.
