Viola Haggard

Viola Albarez Haggard, born at Plattenville, Assumption Parish, on November 15, 1917. She was 91 years old and a long time resident of Prairieville, LA. Visitation will held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales, on Friday, July 17, 2009 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Visitation on Saturday, July 18, 2009 will resume at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville at 9:30am. Rev. Eric Gyan will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am. Entombment will follow in Hope Haven Masoluem in Prairieville. She is survived by her daughter, Deanna Smith Goux and spouse, Jerry J. Goux; daughter-in-law Lita LaPorte Haggard; grandchildren, Charlotte Smith Marsh, Billy V. Smith and wife Jane, Denise Haggard Holliday and husband Eddie, David F. Haggard, III and wife Lori; great-grandchildren Russell Jacob Marsh, Danielle Marsh, Brandon Smith, Rachel Smith, Rebeka Smith, Dominique Holliday and Chloe Haggard. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Mrs. Eva Roche, Mrs. Emily DAlbor, Edwin J. Albarez and wife Eloise, Mrs. Josie LeJeune, Claude Albarez and wife Georgeana. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, David F. Haggard, Sr.; son David F. Haggard, Jr., grandson Mark Edward Smith, parents, Edwin Adam Albarez and Emilie Acosta Albarez both of Bayou LaFourche and her brother Leonard Buster Albarez. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville were she was in the Altar Society and the Catholic Daughters. Please sign her memorial guestbook at www.ascension.com
