God saw you getting tired, so he put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to me", I will reunite you with your beloved, "Did". Mae died at the age of 95 on Friday, September 7, 2018. She was born on August 5, 1923. A native of French Settlement, LA and a resident of Gonzales, LA. She was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church, in Gonzales. Visitation will be at St. Mark Catholic Church, on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. celebrated by Rev. Rubin Reynolds. Burial will follow at Lake Cemetery in Lake, LA. She is survived by two daughters, Carol (Lionel) Bourgeois and Sandra Duplessis; four sons, Vernon Poirrier, Leon (Rosalind) Poirrier, Alvin "Jimmy" (Margaret) Poirrier, and Terry (Donna) Poirrier; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. "Did" Poirrier Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Norman J. "B-Boy" (Judy) Poirrier Jr.; son-in-law, Terry Len Duplessis Sr.; great grandchild, Britnee Duplessis; parents, Vincent and Emma (Berthelot) Aydell; two brothers, Joseph "Sonnyboy" Aydell and Wilbert "Coon Eye" Aydell; and a sister, Leola Aydell.
