Velma Tureau

A resident of Lake and native of Whitehall, she died on Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Golden Age Nursing Home. She was 92 and was an Avon Sales Consultant for over 45 years. Visitation will be on Monday, March 16, 2009 beginning at 10am at the Sacred Heart Mission Lake Chapel in Lake, LA. Rev. Boby Alex will celebrate a mass of Christian Burial at 12pm with interment to follow in the Lake Cemetery. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Guitreau, a special son-in-law; Percy Guitreau, Sr., two sisters; Mercy Babin and Gloria Gregoire, and husband Dewey, sister-in-law, Bertha Vicknair, brother, Charles Vicknair, and wife Olivia, brother-in-law, Ed White, grandchildren; Karla Burch and husband Randy, Richard Guitreau, Jr. and companion Celeste Leiva and Karen Reeves, great-grandchildren; Damon Guitreau, Kristin Burch-Breaux and husband Daniel, Brian Guitreau and wife Heather and Timmy Reeves, great great-grandchildren; Logan, Seth and Mone Guitreau and Koltin and Ashley Breaux, special nieces; Marlyn Templet and Beverly Dupree. She was preceded in death by her parents, Amaluce, Sr. and Althea Vicknair, her husband, Placide Tureau, granddaughter, Debbie Guitreau, sister, Nita Pap White and brother, Amuluce T June Vicknair, Jr. Pallbearers will be; Norris Tureau, Randy Burch, Daniel Breaux, Damon Guitreau, Brian Guitreau and Keith Templet.
