Valerie Ann Martin, age 61, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 8:00 p.m. surrounded by her family. A resident of Prairieville, LA and native of Brooklyn, NY. She worked for Tuesday Morning. Visiting at Family Worship Center, 8919 World Ministry Ave., Baton Rouge, LA, on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until service at 12:00 noon conducted by Bro. Dave Smith. Entombment at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Repast at Café Du Call, located in the Sonlife Radio Building across Bluebonnet Blvd. from Family Worship Center. Survived by her husband, Alvin Tyrone Martin; three daughters, Nikkia Jackson, Tyisha Lowery and husband, Dion Costanzo, and Asah James; two sons, Steven Smith and wife, Genique and Rondu Martin; three sisters, Patricia Smith-Stewart, Denise Smith-Daniels and husband, Charlie, and Yvonne Sapp; eight grandchildren, Whitney Smith, Gerrell Carthen, Steven Smith Jr., Sanailah Smith, Tyanna Lowery, Tijanae Costanzo, Tiffany Costanzo, and Truron Martin; and one great grandchild, Kavell Carthen. Preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Annabella Smith; and a brother, Phillip Smith. She was a member of Family Worship Center. Ascension Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
