Shirley Arceneaux

Shirley Smith Arceneaux, passed away on January 16, 2024, in Gonzales, at the age of 89. She was born on July 22, 1934.

Mrs. Arceneaux was a devout Catholic and had a deep love for her husband and family. She was a homemaker and loved to bowl, play cards, and read.

She is survived by her son, Barney D. Arceneaux and his wife, Betty; daughter, Bridget Arceneaux Marino and her husband, Ken; grandchildren, Tasha Arceneaux Farrell and her husband, B. J., Shelly Arceneaux Graham and her husband, Russell, and Jade Bardwell Gautreaux and her husband, Vance; great-grandchildren, Jude Graham, Mackenzie Graham, Megan Farrell, Braden Farrell, Corbin and Cambry Gautreaux; and sisters, Levenia Dawsey and Beryle Ramsey

Mrs. Arceneaux is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Virgil J. Arceneaux, her parents, Lillian Bullion Smith and Jack Smith; brothers, Kirby Smith and Sulcer Smith; and sisters, Miriam Murray and Jennie Wilborn.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 19, 2024, at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1022 N. Burnside Ave, Gonzales, LA, from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in church.

Entombment will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory in Gonzales.

Pallbearers will be B. J. Farrell, Russell Graham, Vance Gautreaux, Matt Moore, Don Ramsey, and Heath Waguespack.
