Shawn Bates

Shawn Anthony Bates, born in Baton Rouge, LA, on June 24, 1977. Shawn passed at his home in Independence, LA, on March 12, 2024.

 Shawn first and foremost was a family man; his wife and kids were his greatest joy. He was a loving husband, father, son and friend with a deep connection to God and very active in The Father’s House Family Church.

He was with Doyle Electric for over 26 years. In his down time, Shawn was a self-taught artist and shared that love with his children, painting and drawing for countless hours. His canvases and sketches decorate his family home and many others. He enjoyed camping, scuba diving, and spending time with family and friends. A known comedian, he was ready with a funny story and cracked jokes at every opportunity.

 He is survived by his wife, Trista and their children, Josiah, Erick, Talia, Israel, Ethan, and Genoma, mother, Linda Rouyea, sister, Dawn Johnson (husband, Thomas), and sister, Bobbie Wilson (husband, Gregory).

 Preceded in death by his father, Ricky Bates, grandparents, Amos and Genoma (Sheets) Bates, and Ardis and Gladys (Thibodaux) Netto
