Sandra Faye Nickens, age 65, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at 8:43 a.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. A resident of Prairieville, LA and native of Gary, IN. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA, on Monday, August 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Eugene Gullett. Burial in Mount Zion Cemetery. Survived by her husband, Wesley Nickens; daughter, Brandy Nickens Williamson; three sisters, Donna Dempster, Betty Evans and husband, Tim, and Lovie Zago and husband, John; two brothers, Larry Jones Sr. and wife, Mabel and Duayne Sharpe and wife, Susie; and three grandchildren, Alexa Nickens, Jessi Williamson, and Raine Courville. Preceded in death by her parents, Donald Jones and Marjorie Willey Peters; daughter, Sherry Lynn Nickens-Heinz; grandson, Raige Williamson; an infant sister, Leila Jones; and a brother, Edgar Earl Rushing.
