Ruth Nell Myers Bourgeois, age 81, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016, at 4:50 a.m. at The Care Center in Baton Rouge, LA. A resident and native of Acy, LA. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA, on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visiting resumes on Wednesday, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Rev. Mike Galea. Entombment at Holy Rosary Mausoleum. Survived by her daughter, Sheila B. and husband, Malcolm Lee; son, Dean and wife, Verna Bourgeois; five grandsons, Donald Glenn Elkins and wife, Geneva, Ronald Clement Elkins and wife, Elise, Thomas Paul Bourgeois and fiancée, Jamie, Steven Clement Bourgeois, and Christopher Lynn Bourgeois; and four great grandchildren, Orin, Lyla, Connor, and Melanie. Preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Raoul Clement Bourgeois; parents, William "Bill" and Carrie Cannon Myers; and two brothers, John Richard "J.R." Myers and Alvin Paul Myers.
