Ruby Dixon

Ruby Hudson Dixon, age 89, passed away at her home on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 1:35 p.m. surrounded by her loving family. A native of Hobart, LA and resident of Galvez, LA. She was a former beautician and retired school bus driver with the Ascension Parish School System. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Monday, May 14, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Brad Dixon. Burial at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Survived by her children, Glenna Dixon McCon (Charles), Livingston, Terry Dixon (Debbie), Baton Rouge, Don Dixon (Avis), Gonzales, Leslie Dixon Hebert (Lou), Gonzales, and Maiben Dixon and former spouse, Faye Trabeau, Galvez; twelve grandchildren, Kim Aydell, Brad Dixon, Brittni Thyfault, Sarah Laenger, Loren Vidrine, Jackie Tuttle, Alanna Malone, Gemma Russell, Clint Hebert, Rani Poirrier, Amber Wolfington, and Garrett Rodriguez; thirty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Glavin "Sonny" Hudson; and sister-in-law, Jeanette Dixon. Preceded in death by her husband, Leslie A. Dixon; parents, Maiben and Ida Stephens Hudson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Isaac and Josephine Carpenter Dixon; and brothers-in-law, Lyonell Dixon and Lynn Dixon and his wife, Jean. Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. She was a former member of Broussard Grove Baptist Church. Special thanks to Teri Kessel for the loving care given to mama.
