Rose Daigle

d. January 31, 2012

Idell Daigle was born on July 24, 1918, to her loving parents, Francis Mire and Sidney Daigle and passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Theresa of Avila. She served as a lector and was active in smallfaith and rosary groups. Idells faith and belief in Christ was known to all who knew her. She put all decision making and prayers in Gods hands. She loved helping others, visiting the sick and shutins and going to daily Mass. Idell never quit learning even as a senior citizen she took up painting and loved to play cards. She was very independent and even as her life was ending, she didnt complain or ask of her caregivers. She is survived by a brother, Vernon Daigle sisterinlaw, Rose Mary Daigle and many nieces and nephews who have been close to her and loved her throughout her life. She was preceded in death by sisters, Anna Mae Babin, Inez Lambert and Rita Babin and brothers, Joseph J.B. and Calvin Daigle. Pallbearers will be Arik Babin, Johnny Daigle, Brent Lambert, Anthony Babin, Rodney Heath and Roy Marchand Jr. Idell has been a great inspiration to all who knew her and hopefully we can carry on her great faith. The family wishes to invite friends and neighbors to visitation at St. Theresa in Gonzales on Friday, Feb. 3, from noon to 2 p.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in Hope Haven Cemetery in Gonzales. Ascension Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to her favorite charities, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or St. Vincent de Paul. The family would like to extend their thanks to Gonzales Health Care staff and nurses, St. Catherine Hospice and doctors and nurses of St. Elizabeth Hospital.
