Robert Hanly

October 4, 1937 — June 15, 2014

Robert T. Hanly, native of Mobile, AL and resident of Prairieville, LA passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2014 at the age of 76. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Kay Drown Hanly two sons and daughtersinlaw, Christopher David Hanly and wife Gail Truxillo Hanly, and Gregory Parker Hanly and wife Susan Doucet Hanly three grandchildren, Dr. Brenna Kay Hanly, Rebecca Lucie Hanly, and Sean Parker Hanly two nieces, Julie West and Barbara Hoffman. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Bruce and Irma Brabner Hanly. A graduate of McGill High School in Mobile, AL, Robert dedicated 42 years of service to the GMO Railroad which merged with the Illinois Central Railroad in Houston and then merged with the Canadian National Railroad with whom he finished his career in Houston, TX. He was a member of the Traffic Club in Baton Rouge and enjoyed playing golf, yard work, gardening, reading, and watching SEC football, especially LSU. Visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist, 15208 Hwy 73, on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Vincent De Paul.
