P alignrightA resident of Acy, LA, he was born on December 13, 1931 and died November 6, 2008. He was 76 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St. , Gonzales, on Friday, November 7, 2008 from 5pm until 9pm. Visitation on Saturday, will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Hwy 429 in St. Amant beginning at 8:30 am. Rev. Jon Koehler will celebrate a mass of Christian burial at 10:30am. Entombment will follow in the church mausoleum. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth Nell Myers Bourgeois, a son, Dean Paul Bourgeois and daughter, Sheila Ann Bourgeois Elkins and husband, Malcom Lee, a daughter-in-law, Verna T. Bourgeois. Five grandsons; Donald Glenn Elkins, Ronald Clement Elkins, Thomas Paul Bourgeois, Steven Clement Bourgeois and Christopher Lynn Bourgeois, a brother, Milton P. Bourgeois, sister, Lorraine Bourgeois Moran, many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Samuel and Ethel A.
