Paulette Smith Mohamed

Paulette Rebecca Smith Mohamed passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the age of 79.  She was born October 19, 1944, in Independence, Louisiana to Truitt Smith and Truitt Smith and Jorene Donahue.  Paulette was a medical transcriptionist, assisting doctors throughout the Baton Rouge area for more than 20 years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Nazir Mohamed, her sons Todd Janney and Denis Berry and her daughter Ana Berry; and her beloved grandchildren Truitt Janney, Colin Janney, Kate Janney; Landon Berry and Braiden Berry.  She also is survived by her children by marriage, Neisha Bates, Asad Mohamed, Wazir Mohamed, Sham Maccario and Fadila Brunson, and her grandchildren by marriage, Arron, Anson and Ameera Bates; Yasmeen, Nadeera and Amir Mohamed; Hailey and Elise Mohamed; Julia and Cayson Mohamed; Aleem, Amaya, Alaya, Gabriel and Caziel Brunson; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Paulette enjoyed bowling and traveling; however, none of it compared to the time she spent with her loved ones.  We will forever cherish the memories we made, and we are all better for having her in our lives.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2024, at First Baptist Church Denham Springs, 27735 LA-16 in Denham Springs.  A Memorial Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 1:00 p.m.
