Norris Landry

Norris Andrew Landry better known as Buddy Age 86 died at the Gonzales Healthcare Center on Monday, December, 29 2008 at 5:25pm in Gonzales, Louisiana. Buddy was born on November 10, 1922 to the late Bertrand and Hattie Landry. He was a life long resident of Ascension parish and served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WW II. Buddy worked for the Baton Rouge Coca-Cola Bottling Co. from which he retired after 31 years of loyal service. He was also a die hard LSU fan, and as he said many times I bleed purple and gold.Buddy will be missed by his surviving family: two sisters, Dollie Arceneaux and Helen Villneuve Mae, and one brother, Joseph Bo Landry. Buddy is also survived by four sons, Richard Landry, Mark Landry, Mike Landry, and Brett Landry and 2 daughters: Diane Bass and Donna Hass. Buddy was preceded in death by his two brothers and one sister, J.B Landry, Huey Wilson Landry, and Pearl Ruth Gurtner. Buddy was also preceeded by his wife and two sons, Doris Norman Landry, Norris Jr. Sonnyboy and David John Landry. Buddy also enjoyed being surrounded by 15 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, January 1, 2009 at St. Mark Catholic Church, beginning at 1pm. Rev. Gary Belsome will celebrate a mass of Christian burial at 2pm. Burial and military honors will follow at Hope Haven Cemetery on Hwy. 30 in Gonzales. Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales in charge of arrangements. www.ascensionfuneral.com
