Nora Hebert passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice. She was born in Lee's Summit, MO. She was 90 years old. When she first moved to Louisiana, she was a beautician at the hair salon at Rosenfields Department Store in Baton Rouge. Later she became involved in childhood education. She worked with the Montessori School in Baton Rouge and worked as an aide in both St. Theresa Catholic School and Gonzales United Methodist Church kindergarten and pre-kindergarten classes. She was instrumental in starting a Sunday program of education for pre-school children at St. Theresa Catholic School. She later became a member of the Gonzales Art Guild and enjoyed painting. She and her husband, Purvis became involved in square dancing and camping, traveling for square dance camporees, eventually traveling to all forty-eight (48) contiguous states. She is survived by her husband of sixty-four (64) years, Purvis Hebert; daughter, Trina Landry (Rick); son, Joe Hebert (Wendy); grandchildren, Tisha Carr and Scott Landry; great grandchildren, Rachael Stewart (Alex) and Jaspin Carr; great-great grandson, Dustin Stewart; and one sister, Mildred Steele of California. Preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lillie Tracy. Visitation will be at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church, on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m., conducted by Father Eric V. Gyan.
