Ned Kelly Brown Sr., age 83, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at The Crossing at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge, LA at 6:15 a.m. A resident of Gonzales, LA and native of Chesbrough, LA, he retired after 32 years with the Baton Rouge Fire Department. Visiting at Ascension Baptist Church, 13432 Airline Hwy., Gonzales, LA, on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visiting on Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. until service at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Rev. Robert Lawrence. Graveside service at 2:00 p.m. and burial at Hyde Cemetery, Chesbrough, LA. Survived by his wife, Leona E. Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Donna Brown and Ronnie Blanchard; son and daughter-in-law, Ned K. Jr. and Pam Brown; four grandchildren, Brett Blanchard, Chase Blanchard and wife, Kayla, Danielle Bercegeay and husband, Clint, and Ory Brown and wife, Tara; and four great grandchildren, Braxton Brown, Bayleigh Brown, Calla Bercegeay, and Iris Bercegeay. Preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Alma D. Brown; three sisters, Delcie Hyde, Zula Walls, and Maxine Ricks; and two brothers, Virgil and Cliffton Brown. He was a charter member of Ascension Baptist Church and a mason with the Baker Lodge 441 F. & A. M.
