Nada Travis

A resident of Prairieville, she died on Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Baton Rouge General Medical CenterMid City. She was 85. Visitation will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales, on Thursday, June 24, 2010 from 5pm until 9pm. The parlor will reopen at 9am. Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. John Locascio in the funeral home chapel at 11am. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Kentwood, La. at 1pm. She is survived by her children Warren F. Travis, Jr. of Memphis, Cynthia, Joseph, Jeffery L., Zachary T. and W. Jason Travis, all of Baton Rouge and Lenai L. Braud of Gonzales, her sister, a brother, nine grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, William and Lola Riggs, her husband, Warren F. Travis, Sr. and a brother. Pallbearers will be lee Travis, Jason Travis, Destin Garner, Joe Travis, Zack Travis, Randy Guidry, Warren Travis, Christian Garner and Richard Guidry. She was a life long member of Carpenter Chapel Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Life Source Hospice.
