Myrtis Trabeau passed away on Friday, November 6, 2026, in Gonzales at the age of 93. She was born on October 20, 1933, in Whitehall, LA.

She was a caring mother full of strength, love and faith. Her hands grew beauty in the garden and her cooking brought people together.

She is survived by her children, Vickie Balfantz, Darla Villar (Alton), Faye Allison (Cole), and Tammy Kundler (Kelly); grandchildren, Jessica Balfantz, Jory Villar, Kelly Anderson (Dirk), Katie Johnson, Rani Poirrier (Carey), Amber Wolfington (Kris), Kolt Kundler (Amanda), and Kade Kundler; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother; and 1 sister.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Alosia Berthelot; husband, Felman "Shing" Trabeau; grandson, Shawn Balfantz; son-in-law, Ricky Balfantz; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at St. Anne Catholic Church in Sorrento, from 9:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in the church. Entombment will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Mausoleum in St. Amant.
