Mydris Lane Remel passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013, at 3:49 a.m., at Gonzales Healthcare Center, Gonzales, LA. She was 68, born on April 26, 1944, in New Roads, LA. She was a former longtime resident of New Orleans, LA and, since 2005, a resident of Gonzales, LA. Visitation and service to take place at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales, LA, on Saturday, January 19, 2013, from 10 a.m. until service at 2 p.m. The service will be conducted by Reverend Paul Pearson and Father Denis Ekwugha. A Rosary will be recited at 1 p.m. Mydris is survived by her father, John T. Remel, and, her late mother, Chris Mary Remel five sisters: Christine Robinson and husband, James, Debra Russell and husband, Ken, Monique Jackson and husband, Joe, Carolyn Remel, and Debbie Colomb and husband, Bobby two nephews: Terry Russell and wife, Tina and Timothy Russell and wife, Elisa one niece, Jeanne Samples three great nieces one great nephew and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Special thanks to her aunt, Beulah DeMoss, and to her dearest friend of many years, Rita Boudreaux.
