Miss Mary Bourque

Mary T. (Miss Shug) Bourque departed this life on Friday, December 4, 2015, at 2:30 a.m. to be with Jesus. She is the only child of Joseph "Joe" Tallion and wife, Elizabeth "Elonia" Tallion. She is survived by her three children, Miss Frankie Tortorich, Roger "Tee Red" and wife, Julie Bourque, and Michael Tortorich. Born October 2, 1921, Mary was the first female Peace Officer for the city of Gonzales in 1967. Mary owned and operated Mary's Cab Service for 42 years. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Monday, December 7, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visiting resumes on Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. until service at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Chaplain Jason Dunham. Entombment at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Cemetery.
