Mildred Geismar

January 5, 1930 — May 3, 2015

Mildred K. "Mickey" Geismar, age 85, native of Little Rock, Arkansas and resident of Gonzales, LA, passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at her home. She served on the Gonzales Tourist Commission and was an avid quilter. Visiting at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church on Friday, May 8, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. until Mass of the Resurrection at 10:00 a.m. conducted by Father Eric V. Gyan. Inurnment at Hope Haven Garden of Memory. Survived by two daughters, Marie Louise "Lu Lu" Geismar and Suzanne G. George; two sons, Leon S. Geismar Jr. and wife, Patty and Knox Geismar; three sisters, Betsy Prieto, Lise King and husband, Joe, and Josie Falcon; brother, Buzzy Knox and wife, Claudia; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Leon S. Geismar Sr.; parents, George W. and Mildred W. Knox; sons-in-law, Franklin W. Martin Jr. and Edward L. George. She was a member of Friends of the Museum at Tee Joe Gonzales Museum, Daughters of the Confederacy, St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church and Choir, and the Yellow Rose Quilters.
