Mikelyn A. Caballero
March 29, 1961-June 12, 2025
On Thursday, June 12, 2025, Mikelyn A. Caballero passed away unexpectedly at her home at the age of 64. She was a native of Donaldsonville, LA and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. She was a former employee of several local Casinos, but her true calling was caring for both sick and elderly family and friends.
She found joy in her children, her grandchildren, her plants, cooking, and reminiscing about “the good ole days.” She was a person of strong faith, praying the rosary often, and was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She loved to help others in need, whether it was taking care of her neighbors or donating to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
She is survived by her children Kevin Landry, Clint Caballero (Jamie), Blake Franklin (Alex), and Luke Caballero; grandchildren Evan Caballero, Noel Caballero, Alexander Caballero, Matilda Franklin, and Mabel Franklin; sister Jayne Bates (David), nephew Matthew Joffrion (Lise), nieces Brooke Joffrion and Ali Delarosa (Matt); sister Bridget Alexander, nieces Laney King (Ryan) and Morgan Joffrion (Jonas); nephew Zachary Pilley and niece Amy Pilley; her cat Edith and numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence “CJ” Alexander and Beverly Olivier Alexander; paternal grandparents Clarence "Coon" and Amy Alexander; maternal grandparents Uman and Irene Olivier; beloved aunt Carolyn Korner; sister Kelly Alexander Pilley, and nephew Bret Anselmo.
Visitation will be held at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, LA on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 10:00am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial to follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Pallbearers will be Kevin Landry, Clint Caballero, Luke Caballero, Matthew Joffrion, Zachary Pilley, Brent Korner, Brennan Korner, and Rick Olivier. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
