Michael James (Jimmy) (Mike) Mancuso, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 1:45 p.m. at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Bluebonnet in Baton Rouge, LA. He was 72 years old, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Prairieville, LA. He served in the LA National Guard and retired after 30 years at Pepsico/Gatorade. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St. Gonzales, LA, on Friday, July 21, 2017, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service conducted by Deacon Claude Bourgeois at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Prairieville Community Cemetery located behind St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Hwy. 73, Prairieville, LA. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Edna Babin Mancuso; daughter, Jaime Lynn Mancuso Morgan and husband, Jamie; sons, Michael J. Mancuso, Jr. and wife, Sheila Perkins Mancuso, Tyler J. Mancuso and wife, Tammy Briscoe Mancuso, Stephen A. Mancuso and wife, Luca Lindner Mancuso; sisters, Linda Smith, Vickie Seale and Tammy Ringo; brothers, Ronnie Mancuso and Larry Mancuso; grandchildren, Michael and Mitchell Mancuso, Rosemary, Lenke, and Bruno Mancuso, Brian and Carter May. He is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Hazel Mancuso; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence J. and Dessie Clayton Babin. Pallbearers will be his grandsons along with Matthew and Mark LeBlanc, Danny Defelice and Ronnie Mancuso, Jr. Special thanks to Dr. Harold D. Brandt, and the staff at the Baton Rouge Clinic, the ICU-C Unit at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center for the care and concern given to Mr. Mancuso at this difficult time.
