Michael “Mike” Barrett Kyle, a loving husband and father, went to his eternal home with Jesus on December 4, 2022. He was a native of Calcasieu Parish, but a resident of Ascension Parish for over 30 years. Faith, family, hunting, and fishing were Mike’s passions. He will be remembered as a master storyteller, practical jokester, and jack of all trades. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife of 30 years, Bridget Landry Kyle; son, Barrett Kyle; mother-in-law, Sylvia Couvillion; father-in-law Greg Landry (Delores); sisters-in-law, Ericka Gremillion (Craig) and Bobbi Stevens (Walton “Bubba”); brothers-in-law, Michael Landry and Claude Couvillion (Christy); many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and cousins who were more like siblings. His family is comforted knowing Mike is reunited with his father J. Patrick Kyle who left this world at a very young age; mother and stepfather, Jimmie Lynn Ellender (Jacob); father-in-law, Chris Couvillion; grandparents, Joe and Velda Barrett, and Llewellyn and Doris Kyle. Pallbearers will be Barrett Kyle, Craig Gremillion, Nick Gremillion, Kevin Kyle, Gary Fulton, Kevin Daigle, John Schumacher, and Mike Patterson.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W New River St, Gonzales, LA 70737, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and Thursday at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 44450 LA-429, St. Amant, LA 70774, from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 pm. Interment will be at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
