Melissa "Missy" Ann Conrad

With deepest sorrow, we share that our beautiful sister Missy Conrad has passed away on March 23, 2026, at the age of 64 from diabetes complications.

Born on March 8, 1962, to EJ and Joyce Crochet. Missy brought light into every room she entered with her always positive attitude and her kindness. She was not just our sister but our best friend, someone who we can always count on. Missy’s spirit was defined by her immense generosity and her sweet personality. She was like a mother to all of us. She cared and loved deeply for all who knew her.

Missy worked as a devoted librarian at the St. Gabriel Library in which she thoroughly enjoyed until she retired. Missy was also eucharistic minister in her church and to the homebound along with her dad. She was devastated when she had to give that up due to her illness. Missy also worked at St. Jude daycare which she truly loved because that meant she can work with kids. She loved kids even though she couldn’t have any of her own. She loved spending time with her nieces and nephews at family gatherings and holidays. Missy was so kindhearted.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 30 years. Loran Conrad; her siblings, Donna Darvill (Jeff), Cathy Mumphrey, Daron Crochet, Maria Brown (Chad), Jerome Crochet (Kay), who will miss her immensely. She was preceded in death by her dad, EJ Crochet, and mom, Joyce Crochet, and her sister, Stephanie Prather.

Services for Missy Conrad will be held on March 30, 2026, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church located on Hwy 75, St. Gabriel, LA 70780. The visitation will begin at 9:00am followed by the funeral mass at 11:00am.

Missy will be remembered by those who knew her for her positive attitude and her willingness to help anyone in need.
