Maxine Boldebook died peacefully at the Baton Rouge Our Lady of the Lake hospital on May 22, 2023. Maxine was a fulltime mother and wife until 1970 when she became office manager for Bradley and Braud Builders in Duplessis, LA. After retirement she and husband, Clyde, enjoyed travels in their RV and visiting friends and family.

Visitation at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and visitation on May 25, 2023 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Service will be conducted at 10 a.m. by Rev. Eugene Gullett at Ascension Funeral Home. Immediately following the service, burial is at Oak Lane Memorial Park, Prairieville, LA.

Originally from Utica, MS, Maxine and Clyde moved to Gonzales, LA in 1956 and eventually settled in Duplessis, LA. Clyde and Maxine were married for 69 years. Maxine's beloved husband passed away on January 25, 2018. Maxine is survived by four children Mary Poche and husband, Robert of Gonzales, LA, Tony Boldebook, of Houston, TX, Linda Cooper and husband, Billy of Cheaspeak, VA and Debra McCoy and husband, Scott of Houston, TX; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Evelyn Strong, brother James Strong, sisters Margarite Martin, Doris Taylor and Estelle Valakis. Maxine is survived by brother Benard Strong and wife, Louise of Baton Rouge. The Boldebook family extends a grateful thanks to the seventh floor and third floor PCU nurses and staff at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. A very special thanks to nurses Layla (third floor) and Jade (seventh floor) and Dr. Blair Stevens. All three provided exceptionally compassionate, loving and sincere care to our mother and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward the upkeep of the small rural cemetery in Mississippi where several of Maxine's family are buried. Bethesda Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, 6688 Canada Cross Road, Edwards, MS 39066
