Marlyn Michel

A long, loving life has reached the end of its journey home. Marlyn M. (Norwood) Michel, age 88, a native of Ascension Parish and resident of Prairieville, passed away on July 8, 2015, at 11:50 p.m. from natural causes at St. Joseph Hospice Carpenter House, Baton Rouge, LA. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafting and family gatherings. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales, LA on Saturday, July 11, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Pastor Malcom Richard. Burial at Carpenter's Chapel Cemetery. Survived by her three daughters, Charline Kramer and husband, Gerry, Glenda "Sue" Michel, and Patty Jean Sheets; son, Irvin Wayne Michel and wife, Margaret; eight grandchildren, Shane Kramer, Kevin Michel, Donene Geiger, Jeannine Comeaux, Angelia Sona, Sherie Reeves, Josh Sheets, and Kimberly Sheets; and thirteen great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Eugene A. Michel; her parents, Thomas D. and Eunice Norwood; and brothers, Willie, Thomas C. "Jut", Varnado "Black", and Lummis Norwood. Pallbearers, Shane Kramer, Kevin Michel, Josh Sheets, Shad Sona, Kevin Comeaux, and Cody Reeves. Honorary Pallbearer, Freddy Geiger.
