Mark O. Stevens, Sr.
   
   
   Mark Stevens, age 64, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Our Lady of
   
   the Lake Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA due to complications at the
   
   conclusion of openheart surgery. He was a native and lifelong resident of
   
   Gonzales, LA. He was a retired member of Local 53 and of the Catholic
   
   faith. He was very active as a coach for the city of Gonzales youth baseball
   
   and softball programs for many years. He was a coach for Stevens Longhorn
   
   youth football organization. Mark was an umpire, an avid hunter and
   
   fisherman. He loved to travel with his family to NHRA racing events.
   
   He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cyndi Brown Stevens 3 sons,
   
   Mark, Jr. Rose Mary, Samuel, and Timothy Amy Stevens and twin
   
   daughters, Honey Miles Jermaine and Jessi Stevens. He was blessed
   
   with 7 wonderful grandchildren, Shelby, Maecie, Kaylee, Mason, Avery,
   
   Madison and Kade 4 sisters, Brenda Frank Larry, Monica Brown
   
   David, Jessica Munoz Oscar and Patrice Perkins Doug and 2 brothers:
   
   Lamar Stevens Reba and Murry Stevens, Jr. Sandy and a sister
   
   inlaw, Monica Granier David. He was preceded in death by his parents:
   
   Mr. and Mrs. Murry J. Stevens, Sr. Elsie LeBlanc and sister, Robyn Breaux.
   
   Visitation will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., on Sunday
   
   Dec. 28, 2013 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and will continue on Monday, Dec. 9, 2013 from
   
   9:00am to 11:00am. A graveside service will follow at Hope Haven Garden of Memory
   
   Cemetery on Hwy. 30, Gonzales, LA
