Maria A. Melendez was born in Jesus Maria, Jalisco, Mexico on August 12, 1951. She passed away on August 28, 2014 at Our Lady of Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a resident of Gonzales, LA. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, Gonzales, LA, Friday, August 29, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday, August 30, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. until Chapel service at 11 a.m., conducted by Deacon Eliazar Salinas. Survived by her daughters: Juara Melendez, Maria Melendez, Magdalina Melendez, and Ofelia Melendez sons: Jose L. Melendez, Jose Melendez, Esteban Melendez, Gustabo Melendez, Ignasio Melendez and Genaro Melendez two sisters and two brothers and numerous grandchildren.
