Dixon, Margaret Lorraine Butler
On Sunday, July 28, 2013 at the age of 82 she peacefully passed away at the Gonzales Healthcare Center in Gonzales, LA. She was a native of Baton Rouge, LA and resident of Galvez area of Prairieville, LA. She was a 1948 graduate of Istroma High School in Baton Rouge, LA. She worked for many years in Customer ServiceSales. She enjoyed singing in the choir, meeting people and was known for never meeting a stranger. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother to a husband, 3 children, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Chruch and in later years Broussard Grove Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, Larrie Sr. and Virginia Umberger Butler a sister, Virginia Ruth Butler 2 brothers, Larrie L.H. Jr. and L. Warren Butler and sisterinlaw Barbara Butler all of Baton Rogue, La. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Moody Harold M.H. Dixon of Prairieville, LA daughters, Cynthia Dixon Simpson, husband Mervin, Joan Dixon Kelley, husband Adrian son, Bill Dixon, wife Mary Lee all of Prairieville grandchildren, Michelle Simpson Savario, husband Ashley, Duane Simpson, Adrian Scoot Kelley, Jr. wife Ellen, Julie Kelley of Prairieville, Shannon Simpson, wife Rintha of Pride, LA and Cori Dixon OBrien, husband Tim of Livingston, LA greatgrandchildren, George and Courtney Savario, Abby and Chase Kelley, Bella McGucken of Prairieville and Anthony Denicola of Pride, LA sisterinlaw, Betty Jeanne Butler of Baton Rouge and brother, E. Dan Butler, wife Dottie of Many, LA. Visiting will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 from 10 am until service at12 noon. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy. 933, Prairieville,LA.
