A resident of Gonzales, she died Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009, at the Butterfly Wing of Ollie Steele Burden Manor. She was 83 and a native of Germany. Visitation on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Ascension Funeral Home chapel, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, from 10 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m. Burial in St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church Cemetery. Survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara J. and Keith A. Savoy; son, John R. James; former daughter-in-law, Janice Von Hover; three brothers, Bernhard, Gunter and Hans Graber; two grandchildren, Kristen M. James and Cory T. James; and great-granddaughter, Addison Lynn James. Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. James Jr.; daughter, Rosewitha Graber; parents, Maria and Josef Graber; two brothers, Hienzel and Sepale Graber; four sisters, Hildegard Kluge, Hadel Schroder, Elfriede Steindl and Eva Nothaas; and longtime friend, Norris Tullier. Pallbearers will be Darryl Tullier, Donny Brown, Mike Calif, Cory James, Frank Von Hover Jr. and Keith Savoy. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny James, Brad Sagona and Keith White. She loved her home and yard and out of town getaways with her best friend, her daughter.
