Lucien Joseph Templet, Sr.

A loving  husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, he died August 17, 2023, at Clarity Hospice in Baton Rouge.

He was 83, born October 13, 1939, and was a native and longtime resident of Gonzales, Louisiana.

Visitation at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Thursday, August 24, from 9 to 11, a service of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Cornerview Cemetery.

He is survived by his partner Irma Keller; sons, Lucien (Cheryl) Templet Jr., Ty (Brenda) Duplessis, and Travis Templet; daughters, Beverly Templet, Tawanah Duplessis Devillier, Irene Templet, Elizabeth Templet, and Daphne Poirrier-Templet; brothers Roy Templet, Lionel Templet, Ernest Templet, and Floyd Templet; 19 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Poirrier Templet; parents, Louis Templet, Sr., and Nella Lambert Templet; brothers, Laben Templet and Louis Templet, Jr.; sisters Irene Templet, Lorraine Templet, and Lea Ida Templet; son, Don Duplessis; daughter, Monique Ory; and son-in-law James Devillier.
