Loraine Grant

Loraine Dora Stone Grant passed away on September 3, 2018 at the age of 92. A resident of Prairieville, Loraine was well loved by her friends and family for being the best cook around. She was particularly well known for her jellies and jams and often had loved ones knocking on the door with an empty jar to trade in. Loraine loved to host and visit garage sales because she always saw the opportunity to give something a new life and to meet new friends. We fondly remember her strong will, her generous nature, and her tenacity to achieve anything she set her mind to. Loraine was preceded in death by the love of her life, Homer. Together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage and raised three daughters, Barbara (Curtis) Boney, Mary Grant, and Lillian Broussard. She is survived by her children, 8 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Patti Stone and Elizabeth "Kitti" (L.J.) Ruffino, her brother Morris Stone, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. Loraine will be interred with her husband in her hometown of Bryan, Texas.
