Lloyd James Guedry, age 78, passed away at Nottingham Regional Rehab Center, Baton Rouge, LA, on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at 4:45 p.m. He was native of Sorrento, LA, former resident of St. Amant, LA and Liberty, MS, and resident of Baton Rouge, LA. He served in the U. S. Navy and retired from the Painters Union. He loved his daughter and grandchildren very much. He also loved playing the guitar, planting flowers, working in his yard and got a thrill out of watching them grow and how beautiful they were. He loved working around his home and was able to build and fix anything. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, LA, on Friday, May 5, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. until service at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Deacon Brent Duplessis. Burial at Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge, LA. Survived by his daughter, Christie Choate and husband, Scott; three step children, Michael Evans, Kathy Evans Knight and David Evans; two grandchildren, Ava and Chase Choate; three step grandsons, Davy Evans, Joshua Ivy, and Kevin Ivy; former wife, Janet Guedry; two sisters, Irma Guedry LeBlanc Landry and Gloria Guedry Hernandez and husband, Harry; and three sisters-in-law, Sally Guedry, Eva Guedry, and Dianne Burett Guedry; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Leonce and Eva Guedry; sister, Hilda Guedry LeBlanc and husband, Dudley; five brothers, Sam Guedry, Gordon Daniel Guedry and wife, Doris, Melvin Guedry, Robert "Bobby" Guedry, and infant, Lionel Guedry; and brother-in-law, Robert Landry.
