alignleftA loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother, died late January 28, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. She was a resident of Gonzales, and a native of Baton Rouge. She was 46 years old and an employee of Wal-Mart. She is survived by her mother, Janice Barbay, three daughters, Brandy Gros, Ashley Brown and husband Chad and Renee Gros, four sisters, Cheryl Stafford and husband Randy, Lynn Abshire, Jamie Scharlau and Christy and Scott Cook, four grandchildren; Logan Gros, Jaycie and Josiah Walker and their father Jeremy Walker, and Jaylen Darville and his father Matthew Darville and her fianc James Rabalais. She was preceded in death by her father James Barbay and grandson Marshall Gros. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales from 5pm until 9pm. Visitation on Friday, February 1, 2008 will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church beginning at 8am. Rev. Joel LaBauve will celebrate a mass of Christian burial at 10am. Burial will follow in Faithful United Methodist Cemetery on Hwy 431, St. Amant. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge.
