Jules "Huleo" Hidalgo, Jr.

Jules “Huleo” Hidalgo, Jr. age 81, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. He was born on December 18, 1943, to the late Mabel Laiche Hidalgo. He served our country in the United States Army. Jules dedicated 59 years of service with Local 198. He was a longtime Red Cross Volunteer, dedicating years of service to helping others.

He is survived by his two children, Kim Bolton and Joey Hidalgo; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Martha Gaudin (Ronnie), Carolyn Martin (Grant); sisters-in-law, Dottie Hidalgo and Jill Hidalgo; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Jules was preceded in death by his mother, Mabel Laiche Hidalgo; grandmother, Caroline Laiche; brothers, Martin (Monk) Hidalgo, Louis (Chico) Hidalgo, and Elie (EJ) Hidalgo; and nephew, Randall Kevin Hidalgo.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 9:00 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am at Ascension Funeral Home in Gonzales. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 1:00 pm at Louisiana National Cemetery in Zachary with military honors.

Jules Hidalgo’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
