Joseph Gonzales

A resident of Gonzales, he died at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center on Bluebonnet on Monday, December 1, 2008. He was 61 and was a familiar face at the Prairieville Wal-Mart Garden Center where he worked. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era. Visitation will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, Hwy 621 in Gonzales, beginning at 9am on Friday, December 5, 2008. A mass of Christian burial will be at 11am, celebrated by Rev. Joel LeBauve with Deacon James Morrissey assisting. Interment will follow in the St. Theresa Catholic Cemetery on Hwy 44 in Gonzales. He is survived by five brothers and sisters-in-law; Lucien and Barbara Gonzales of Prairieville, Lawrence and Lois Gonzales and Patrick and Aliska Gonzales, of Gonzales, Claude and Diane Gonzales of the City of Central and Donald and Viola Vi Gonzales of Meeker, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Sr., and Adine Gonzales and an infant brother, Lee Gonzales, Jr. Services are being handled under the direction of Ascension Funeral Home, 426 West New River St., Gonzales. www.ascensionfuneral.com
