Joseph Bailey

J. C. Bailey, age 85, passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2016, at 5:06 p.m. at Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge, LA. A native of Covington, TN, resident of Gonzales, LA, and former resident of Foxworth, MS and Covington, TN. He retired from the Tennessee Department of Corrections. A veteran of the Korean War having served in the Navy, Air Force, and National Guard. A private memorial service will be held. Survived by his daughter, Sally Forsythe; three grandchildren, Tina Clarke and husband, Johnny, Scott Forsythe, and Melissa Carroll and husband, Jason; three great grandchildren, Nathan Forsythe, Tyler Forsythe, and Weston Carroll; two nephews, Randall and Russell Bailey; and a niece, Lynn Stewart. Preceded in death by his wife, Nell Bailey; daughter, Margie Swanton; son, Curtis Bailey; and grandson, Shane Melton. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Covington, TN and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
