John T. Richardson, 82, passed away in his home in St. Amant, surrounded by family and friends on February 14, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as an aviation electrician. He worked for Boyce Machinery for 23 years as a diesel mechanic and later retired from Louisiana Machinery.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jeanette LeBlanc Richardson; daughter, Rebecca Mattison and her husband, Scott; son, Michael Richardson, Sr.; five grandchildren, Tyson Mire, Michael Richardson, Jr.; Katelyn Billberry, Courtney Billberry, and Kolbi Richardson; and one sister, Aline Denham.
Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Richardson; brothers, Albert, Charles, and Jimmy; and sister, Anna Belle Acy.
Visitation will be at Ascension Funeral Home on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Father Michael Galea. Entombment will be in the Holy Rosary Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Tyson Mire, Michael Richardson, Jr., Scott Mattison, Danny Acy, Johnny Little, and Bruce Clouatre, Sr. The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice for their loving care, especially Julie Robicheaux and Neely Michel.
