John T. Richardson, 82, passed away in his home in St. Amant, surrounded by family and friends on February 14, 2015. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War as an aviation electrician. He worked for Boyce Machinery for 23 years as a diesel mechanic and later retired from Louisiana Machinery.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jeanette LeBlanc Richardson; daughter, Rebecca Mattison and her husband, Scott; son, Michael Richardson, Sr.; five grandchildren, Tyson Mire, Michael Richardson, Jr.; Katelyn Billberry, Courtney Billberry, and Kolbi Richardson; and one sister, Aline Denham.
Preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Richardson; brothers, Albert, Charles, and Jimmy; and sister, Anna Belle Acy.
Visitation will be at Ascension Funeral Home on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and will resume on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. conducted by Father Michael Galea. Entombment will be in the Holy Rosary Mausoleum.
