Jerry Billiot

A resident of Prairieville and a native of Montegut, he died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007. He was 70 and a retired tugboat captain. Visitation at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Tuesday, Oct. 30, from 10 a.m. until memorial service at 1 p.m. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marietta Hymel Billiot; two sons, Jerry Billiot Jr. and Van Billiot and his wife, Tammy; three sisters, Dorothy Barnes, Josephine Billiot and Brenda Batts; two brothers, Andrew Billiot and his wife, Linda, and Tony Billiot Sr. and his wife, Patricia; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Teles Paul Billiot; mother, Rose A. Billiot; and brother, Lawrence Billiot. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to the family. BR
