Jeanne Mouton

A beloved daughter, wife, sister, mother and grandmother, she died on Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Ollie Steele Burden Manor Butterfly Wing after bravely fighting cancer for more than three years. She was a native of St. Bernard and a longtime resident of Zachary. She is survived by her husband, Charles Buddy Mouton Jr.; a sister, Elizabeth Gervais Cookie Pacheco and husband Richard; brother-in-law, Michael Mouton; her four children, Catherine Fontenot and husband Paul, Kyle Asevedo and wife Melissa, Chad Mouton and wife Julie, and Dustin Mouton; and eight grandchildren, Corianne, Grace, Beaux, Caroline, Matthew, Alex, Jude and Brody. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Leola Gervais; and her brother, Michael Gervais. Her biggest joy in life was serving all she loved. Visitation will be held at Ascension Funeral Home, 426 W. New River St., Gonzales, on Friday, June 26, beginning at 9 a.m. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Baton Rouge, Butterfly Wing at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Wayne Gravois for all of his care and support throughout her treatment. Thanks also to the doctors and staff at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Dr. Hanson and Dr. Cassidy at LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center, Amanda Welch, RN and staff at Lane Memorial Hospital and to Dr. DeJesus and staff at Hospice of Baton Rouge, Butterfly Wing.
