James Hall

August 20, 1936 — May 21, 2016

James Philip Hall, resident of Killian, LA, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 9:40 a.m. at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond, LA. He was the third child of the late Dr. Edward Emerson Hall and Eva Marie Walters Hall, born on August 20, 1936 in Carbondale, IL. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Audeen Sauls Hall; one son, George Edward Hall and wife, Evelyn Bounds Hall; one daughter, Regena Dean Davis Marcum and husband, Wayne Marcum; two grandsons, Christopher Kane Hall and Shannon Dean Davis; one brother, Charles William Hall and wife, Judith Hall and their son, Thomas Hall and wife, Kim Hall and their two sons, Joshua Hall and Matthew Hall; one brother-in-law, Melvin Stafford and his son, William Wayne Stafford. He is also preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Mr. Hall was a fisherman and a hunter and had many happy hunts with his son and wife, who was his fishing buddy. His wishes were to be cremated and his cremated remains to be scattered at his favorite fishing grounds. A private family service will be held on the White River, in Cotter, AR. Mr. Hall is a member of the Oak Grove Methodist Church of Hattiesburg, MS. Mr. Hall attended the Lab School of the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated from Oak Grove High School, Hattiesburg, MS. He entered the U.S. Navy from two years of service in the reserves during high school and served with the Navy Fleet during the Korean Conflict. He received a medical discharge and returned to enter into the petrochemical field. He was a qualified technical manual writer for refinery and tail gas recovery operations. He spent many years traveling the world with two years in Iraq and Saudi Arabia starting up chemical plants.
